Montez Press Radio

Hand-Holding, Cell Projects, London, 2019

“Hand-Holding”, a radio show held at Cell Projects Space on the 24th of August as part of Montez Press Radio’s summer radio programme

A pink square image that looks like a poster. It contains text that looks like it has been stamped on the page that says Montez Press Radio with dates and times. There is also handwritten text over it that says Bella Milroy, Handholding.

“Artist Bella Milroy reads a number of her own written pieces that wander through notions of sickness, sensuality, love and grief. Milroy punctuates these readings by playing music live on her family gramophone, using records from her grandparent’s small collection of 78’s. With this personal archive as a catalyst, Milroy uses this exploration of touch and the hand-held as a way of cataloguing and remembering other ways of living and loving.”

Part of the recording features work written for Montez Press’ Interjection Calendar 2019, “It Smells Just as Sweet (A Rose of a Different Name)”.
